Re: Main Sheet - Traveller
Thanks for the info. The article on the Fleet 1 site was very helpful. I don't think I like the rope traveler because it doesn't solve the problem of being in the way. Plus, not being able to raise the tiller would be worse. But... what if I set up a rope traveller forward, near the winches. If I us...

Main Sheet - Traveller
I dis-like the mainsheet arrangement. Too much line all over the place, and the cam cleat on the sole of the cockpit is a PITA. Also makes accessing the O/B difficult. I want to install a mainsheet traveller so that I can trim end of the boom tension separately from the sheet angle. Has anyone else ...

Re: Bottom Paint
Took me about 1/2 gallon to do my Fixed keel boat, which will have a bit more surface area to do than if you have a swing keel.
Dont forget to do the rudder!

Re: Tiller
If you have some basic wood working skills you ought to be able to fabricate a new one without much difficulty. Teak is fairly easy to find. And then you can shape it to your liking.

Looking for a Jib
My boat came with its factory suit of sails, minus a Jib. So I have a Dacron Main, Mylar 150% Genoa, and Spinnaker, all with my number on them! However, The Genoa is a bit much when the wind pipes up, and that's a lot. Not wanting anything racy, just functional. I live in Bellingham, Wa, but would b...

Re: Diarmuid, hull #???
As I understand it, the hull number should be the first numbers in the HIN. If yours is a Mk I then it will be a 3 digit number. In my case, I was fortunate to bet a boat with all original factory racing sails with my Number on it, 889. What did you go for a Jib? Mine came with a Main and the big 15...

Re: Looking for a SJ21 Back Stay
making your own shouldn't be hard. A length of appropriate cable, and some crimping sleeves and your in business. Otherwise, if you can find a rigger through a local shipyard, a backstay like ours shouldnt be hard or expensive to have made.
