Nova Scotia to Newport Cruise
Cruise Report: Dundee Nova Scotia to Newport Rhode Island - Fall 2010 Sorry, this is NOT a San Juan 21 cruise, but stay tuned - it was a great adventure, and there are a couple of places that would make great SJ21 cruises, if it weren't so far to drive! For me, trailering from the Seattle area to Du...

Re: Electrical System write up
Great writeup! Thanks for all of the details. I re-did my electrical a number of years back similarly - it is worth it to use terminal blocks, and I soldered the wires to the spade connectors (which might be overkill). So far, no problems after several years. The load on my electrical system include...

Havasu Pocket Cruiser's Convention 2012 Cruise Report:
My sister and I attended the Havasu Pocket Cruiser's Convention (http://www.sailhavasu.com) at Lake Havasu, AZ, in mid February. We got there a few days early and stayed late a few more days, to take in some of the local sites and do some desert hiking. During the convention, we kept the boat at the...

HPCC: Thurs Feb 16
Update: in the Pocket Cruiser's Cup, on Wed, we placed 8th out of maybe 30 boats. No handicapping/corrections, so we were competing against Macgreggor 26's, Catalina 25's, and a bunch or other boats over 20'. We did ok, although I wonder if we'd have done better if handicapped/corrected. Thurs Feb 1...

At the Havasu Pocket Cruisers Convention
So far, we've had five great days of sailing at Lake Havasu, AZ. It took me about 2 1/2 days of driving to get here from the Seattle WA area, but it has been well worth it. It was cold and raining in Seattle, and in Oregon. But as I drove south into California, the weather got much nicer and warmer....

Another SJ21 coming to Havasu!
I just found out there will be another SJ21 coming to Lake Havasu for the 2012 Pocket Cruisers Convention. They're from Rapid City, S.D. http://www.sailhavasu.com/whos_attending_2012.html Good! I won't be the only SJ21 there. I'm also looking forward to sailing in some warmer weather, although I gue...

Re: Sailing under the London Bridge, anyone?
That would be great if a few more SJ21's showed up. I was originally going to sleep on the boat in the marina (downside-no showers!), but then, Sean negotiated some killer deals for hotels, so I'm staying at the Nautical Inn, on the cove, so I can either beach the boat or leave it at the dock. I ten...

Sailing under the London Bridge, anyone?
Count me in! Especially in February, when it is usually pretty cold here in the Puget Sound area. Lake Havasu, AZ promises to be a lot warmer. The 5th annual Havasu Pocket Cruiser's Convention runs from Feb 13-20th, 2012, and I'm planning on being there. So far, there will be 140 boats, and we will ...

Re: How much does just the trailer weigh?
Bob: Very good guess! I bought & built a "kit" trailer in 1991 - It is a galvanized single axle (no brakes) trailer, originally intended for a 19' powerboat, but with some creative modifications to the bunks, it works great for my SJ 21 Mk II. To license the "homebuilt" trailer, I too had to bring i...
