Spinnaker Halyard
Adding a spinnaker halyard for an asymmetrical I picked up on ebay and had a couple questions. 1. What did you use to attach the block to the mast. My boat is using one of these for the Jib halyard block https://duckworks.com/racelite-stainless-jib-strap/. Looks like they make a spinnaker specific o...

Re: Reforming DC/Virgina Fleet?
I'm in Fairfax and would try to make a sailing event.
Not SJ21 specific, but I took ASA 101/103 with the pentagon sailing club (pentagonsailing.org). They organize both training and social events.

Re: deck re-core
I just finished a complete recore last summer. It is quite the job. Fiberglassing a new inner skin was the worst part. My best tip is to not try to get giant pieces of cloth up and using 3m 77 to get the fabric to stick and then work the epoxy in with a foam brush (that will quickly fall off the bru...

Clew Rigging When Reefing
Short version - How is the the rigging to the clew when reefed normally done? Long version - The other boat I have sailed (a c22) had 2nd outhaul line setup for the reef. My sj21 boom has a hook for the tack when reefing but I'm not sure about the setup for the clew. The port side of the boom has a ...

Stock Electrical System Question
My 1980 Mk2 switch panel has 3 switches (navigation lights, cabin lights, and accessory). The wiring disappears into the fiberglass. The navigation lights wires emerge where I would expect near the 2 stock navigation light fixtures. I have not been able to find any trace of the other 2 circuits wiri...

Standing Rigging Questions
I'm fixing up a sj21 that has not been in the water for over a decade. My first question is should the chainplates be straight? They are both bent aft but an asymmetrical amount? Time for a them to be replaced? https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/ACtC-3fbbcBiQuy9kQKx8jqHrt_3HedJI27roEHDR8CEu9xGeMiC...
