Re: Mast Spreader Needed
Has anyone heard from Stephen lately? I sent an order a couple weeks back, got an invoice and a note he would send payment instructions shortly, but nothing since. I followed up a few days ago but still nothing.

Measuring new sails
I'm in the process of buying some new sails. As part of the process I've been given a measurement sheet. The boat is still in storage and I can't raise the mast anyway until I've installed a new mast base and spreaders (see my post re: dismasting from last November). My question is - the one deign s...

Surprisingly non-catastrophic rig failure
My whole mast came down while it on a mooring last month, and I thought some people here may be interested in what went wrong. (Spoiler - it's quite easily fixable and there is no damage to mast or hull.) First of all, I had a very bent turnbuckle because it got twisted as I was raising the mast ear...

Re: Anybody getting any sailing in??
For very small amounts I use a digital scale and do it by weight. Your resin should give proportions by weight as well as volume. In the case of west system I believe it is the same. You can buy scales with 1/100 precision on Amazon for about $10, so you can mix up less than a gram at a time if you ...

Re: Difficulty inserting and removing the mast pin
I figured it out. The shrouds we're just a little too tight. After loosening them the pin goes in with no resistance and can wiggle it out without too much difficulty. I even got the may up single handed the other day.

Re: Forum Status
That's brilliant! I'll try that for next season. I had to put a reef in this year and it makes me nervous to hold the boom or use the clip on the backstay to support it. A proper topping lift would be way better.

Re: Anybody getting any sailing in??
Yes. Plenty. I'm lucky to have the boat on a mooring at a lake 10 minutes from home so have been getting out about once a week or so. Unlike Will, my boat was in reasonable shape when I got it but I have done some rebedding of deck hardware to ensure it stays that way. I got a few tears in my 40-yea...

Difficulty inserting and removing the mast pin
Hi everyone. Ever since I got my boat I've had a terrible time inserting, and especially removing the mast base pin. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a trick to it?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: sail slides
I had a mast gate made for mine last fall by mastgates.com. The guy had me take all sorts of measurements and he recommended 1/2 inch slugs. A caveat though - this was a winter project and I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.
