Re: Do we have to use Randy Blair's fairing, or can we make
Steve, the reason the Blair fairing is the only legal one is because it's the only one that has been submitted for approval. Obviously any new design would need to get some sort of approval, but If you maintained the basic concept of the Blair fairing it would not be difficult to get it approved.

Re: Do we have to use Randy Blair's fairing, or can we make
Hi Steve, there is nothing really special about the Blair keel fairing, but it works very reliably. As far as the rules go you can do pretty much whatever you want down there assuming you leave the aluminum retainer strips basically intact or don't add anything that fairs the strips away. I worked o...

Re: Get Registered!
Looking forward to seeing everyone again. For those who have not sailed out of Oak Harbor before, it is a great venue and should have good sailing conditions. Re: Boat bottem leaks
Most of the boats I've seen don't have a drain plug in the transom. If you are getting enough water in your boat to need a drain, you have serious problems.

Re: Aluminum Bulkheads
Your boat must have been built on a Tuesday, so the chock position and deck layup is probably totally different than mine. Clark Boats aren't known for consistancy. I'm from Montana so all of our butter is frozen solid this time of year, thats why we need tuff knives

Re: Aluminum Bulkheads
You could just move the chocks, but I'm not sure thats really necessary. In my experience, cutting through the glass to expose the bolts and nuts on the SJ is pretty trivial. You could probably cut through the glass with a butter knife and expose the nut sufficiently to tighten it back up. I'm prett...
