Re: New to the sj world.
Just looked up Forks, WA in Google maps. Beautiful country. Just be very careful braking in curves on wet pavement. Particularly on down grades. The trailer without brakes can jacknife you faster than you can react.

Re: New to the sj world.
Hello, and welcome to the forum. I'm very new myself, and also recently purchased an old Mk 1. The biggest thing to remember is to pull the keel up off of the trailer to launch, then lower it and insert the lock bolt once in the water. After sailing, DON'T FORGET TO PULL THE LOCK BOLT b4 raising the...

Re: Hull to hull liner repair
Good idea on the inspection ports. Good idea to re-fasten both sides. Although if I'm going to work on the inside on the bunk, I'm thinking one of those big rectangular doors (http://www.duckworksbbs.com/hardware/hatches/dpi-rec/index.htm) will enable me to get tools in there and see what I'm doing....

Re: Tie Down?
Thanks to all, sounds like good advice. I'll pick up a web strap b4 moving the boat again.

Tie Down?
Hi...
I've just purchased an old SJ21 Mk 1 with trailer. It seems odd to me that the boat is not secured to the trailer by anything except the winch cable. Is this normal?
Thanks,
George

Hi... I just purchased a very old Mark I, sail number 621. Since I'm located in central Ohio, I don't expect to join any of the SJ21 fleets; my plan is to use the boat for daysailing with my home "port" being Delaware Lake. There are a number of other lakes in the area suitable for sailing, and I'm ...
