Only 7 boats went out; 3 in AS and 4 in WS. We got 2 quick races in, and then the RC sent us in. They were watching radar, I think, and anticipated rain. You can sail without a keel gasket but be prepared for the cockpit drain to be more like a geiser (Old Faithful) Balsa is relatively cheap, light and strong. Good exterior plywood will work.
