After a few years on the hard, Hull 302 "Wastrel" hit the water of Kootenay Lake last week in fine form. Substantial re-coring was done by Tom Brach of Nelson, and finished by Stephen Bialkowski of Rossland BC, the proud new owner. Stephen also borrowed my variable speed polisher and cut the finish on her making her look great. Using Baltic Birch Plywood, he made backing plates for all the hardware. She sails beautifully on her original Clark sails, which include working sails, a 180, a 150, a 130, and a Hood spinnaker that looks hardly used. Now to hook him on the racing scene. This boat came from Idaho and has Idaho numbers on her. I don't see her former owner listed on the registry, which is out of date.
