Eastern Commodore Dec 2014 Message

Very soon 2014 will be history and yours truly as Eastern Commodore will be included.
Doug Longhini will be taking over the helm for 2015 and let’s all work to help Doug promote the class and the associated activities which brings value in the form of great sailing and fun using our prized possessions.
In that regard, New Bern, NC Fleet #8 and Doug are very busy organizing the 2015 North Americans to be held 10 – 14 June. One of their goals is to outdo the event held on Lake Murray two years ago. I wish them great success and I am looking forward to being there with crew and White Knuckles #1085 and I have the event firmly listed on my 2015 sailing calendar. Please make sure it is on yours!
Fleet #8 has posted a “Preliminary NOR” (http://sj21class.org/events.html?section=national) on the web site and plans on having a formal NOR posted early next year.
I am using this opportunity to inform y’all that 2015 membership fees are due. Get your form to submit at:
http://sj21class.org/join.html
These dues support the class. Such expenses are web site fees, exec committee conference calls, developing formal drawings for parts manufacturing, mailing expense, class scale maintenance, etc.
Also, please keep in mind the many volunteer hours our Secretary/Treasurer Chris Popich and Web Master Chris Barker spend that allows the class to have very low dues compared to other classes.
In the future be looking forward to getting a firm date for the 2016 NA’s to be held in Calgary.
In the meantime, Eastern Fleets need to present to the E. Nat’l meeting their bid for the 2016 E. Nats or 2017 NA’s or 2017 E. Nats.
I hope y’all had a great Thanksgiving and are looking forward to having a great Christmas and a bang up New Year! I know the New Bern fleet will be racing on New Year’s Day. Please join them.
Cheers, (\ <----- SJ 21 #1085 "White Knuckles" (\_ (\_ (\_
