A GREAT start to the sailing season at Lake Norman Yacht Club The San Juan 21 Midwinters(largest fleet! ) boasted 10 competitors from 4 states and some great competition
The Friday night welcome party was well attended. Saturday dawned cool and damp, but by 1pm The fog burned off And the wind came up. the afternoon saw some good sailing and tight competition
Sunday's wind was good early (5-10) and died after lunch
4 different boats won races, and after 4 races, the scores of the top 5 were 8, 11, 13, 19, 20! After a 5th race, (and a throw out) Dick Dommel
Was able to top the Mike Chesser/Hans Lassen team by a single point. two points back was Bill McClure and 2 more back was Merrill Calllen, and 1 behind him was Mike Robinson
