Tie Down?

Post by Roamer » Thu Sep 17, 2015 7:49 pm

Hi...

I've just purchased an old SJ21 Mk 1 with trailer. It seems odd to me that the boat is not secured to the trailer by anything except the winch cable. Is this normal?

Thanks,
George

Mine has a gunwale strap that goes across the cockpit and down both sides to the trailer.

I just use a ratcheting strap across the stern cockpit coamings hooked to the trailer.

Use only enough pressure to keep the boat from bouncing. Too much crushes the hull.

Thanks to all, sounds like good advice. I'll pick up a web strap b4 moving the boat again.

This ^^ ... don't wrench things down too tight. Many in Fleet 1 will wrench things down, and loosen it up when home.
