Trailer Tires

Post by Roamer » Mon Oct 05, 2015 8:32 pm

I decided to replace the tires on the trailer I bought in September, because their age is unknown and they have sidewall cracking. It's a single axel trailer (a Fleet Cap'n brand made in New Bern), and the tires are 4.80-12 Load Range B. If I'm correct, the boat weighs at least 1,440 pounds and the trailer another 400. This exceeds the weight range for a load range B tire. Is there any reason load range B was used? Or was this just a mistake. What are you using?

Thx, George
