San Juan 21 Class Association

I am just about to finish up getting this boat I'm doing back together. I have one very rookie question. lol I have heard that it is bad luck to change the name of a boat. No where on any paperwork that I have is a boat name. The letters on the boat are so worn off that I can not make out what it's name would have been. While this question may sound foolish to some, I just don't want to anger the lake gods,,,, lol.

I did it. Google around, there are some ceremonies to appease the gods. We did something silly and haven't sunk yet. She'll just be glad to get back on the water.
