Hey guys,

some of us in Fleet 1 have raced the VO racing game a year or so again and had fun... I started the pre race and flubbed badly, but anyone interested in some virtual racing should check it out.

There are now 4 member's of Fleet 1 playing this game... Wooglin (Chris Popich), Habagat (Fausto Deguzman), 1Mizu (myself) and Lunacy (Scott Laroy). You can join the race at any time, and they have apps for Android and Iphone as well.

Some fun virtual racing, primarily sailors from fleet 1 but it would be nice to have other virtual boats out there. Remember, it is free to join. And you can join anytime, even in the middle of a leg. If you do, you will be put towards the last half of the pack but this just gives you an opportunity to catch up. There are currently 98K boats in the water. The virtual game uses real world weather.

Here are some photos of the racing so far. We are currently off the coast of Africa.

Setting the spinnaker and choosing point relative to the wind.

Remember, it is not too late to join. Each leg has real prizes. Here is the link http://volvooceanracegame.org

What is your sailboat name? so that I can add you to my friend list, and from there you can track the boat. Mine is Habagat, there is also 1Mizu, Lunacy, and Wooglin.

Hey Fausto, It is krysiary1. I'm tracking you folks already. Popich gave me hell 'cause I ended up starting out side the Med and didn't have to run into the rock like he did. I appeared along the coast of Africa last night. I think they must have transported my TP52 by truck to get me there.
Good sailing.

Bill, if you join after the leg starts they put you somewhere in the middle of the pack. It'd be pretty daunting if you had to start all the way back at the start:) Have the game show you P's track sometime:) It was pretty interesting getting through the straight, but not too bad. Had to have good timing on your "boat checks", heh.

Hopefully you stay in, we don't take it toooooo seriously:) but there are guys who check every single wind change, etc. Just log in every once in a while, check the wind forcasts, and make some changes. I check more often than I should probably, it's just so tempting when I can access it on my phone:)

Yeah I saw Chris's track. I'm going to be away for a few days in Mexico getting a boat ready for a trip in June. My son Taylor will be sailing for me when I'm gone. Sure wish I could hit these speeds in my ole Sj.
