Needed: Kick-up rudder blade – or 1 piece rudder

Post by Wilwait » Fri Jul 29, 2011 4:02 pm

Greetings:

Two flats and no spare would well describe my predicament yesterday.

On a windless afternoon in the bay, my motor failed us. Later heading out from the beach, my kick up rudder broke in two at the junction of upper metal frame. Fortunately the coast guard towed our Sj21 back to our mooring before dark.

Needless to say, I am in dire need of a blade. Might anybody know where I can locate a used rudder for my Sj21? (Kick-up preferably, or 1 piece)

Please email me with any leads.

Thanks for your time.

Wil

If you haven't already, give Gene Adams a call to see if he has one...

If you buy one from Gene make sure he inspects it before shipping it and that its in excellent condition.

You can try Randy Blair in Clarkston, Wa. 509-758-0636. He is listed under suppliers on Jim Hubbards web site.
