Jib roller furling

I purchased my SJ21 this summer and solo frequently with the main only. I sail on a small inland lake in E. Tennessee. I use a tiller tamer and climb onto the deck to raise the main. My question is should I invest in a jib roller furler (if so any suggestions?) or just do the same for the working jib as I do the main. If there are any suggestions on handling the jib from the cockpit they would be appreciated. Thanks.

To me, a jib furler is a little overkill for this size boat, but it would certainly be convenient. I use a jib downhaul though and it is indispensable. At the time you want the jib down fast, you don't want to be on deck as the wind and waves are usually up. a jib downhaul led to the cockpit is great. attach it to the first hank rather than the head of the sail though to keep it from jamming. Steven has other details on the rigging section of the Fleet 1 website.
