Replacement turn buckle for RF-354

Post by Herb » Fri Mar 11, 2016 2:28 am

This may post twice accidentally. If so, sorry.

We are new to sailing, and to this forum. We recently purchased an SJ21 from the late 70s.

The turn buckles look like they need replacing. It was hard to read the part number, but it looks like RF-354, and I believe it is a Ronstan product.

I cannot find this turn buckle anywhere. It must be no longer made.

I would like to replace the turn buckles with an "open style" turn buckle.

Does anyone know what is the correct replacement turn buckle to purchase and install?

Thanks.

Hi, start by contacting Stephen Jensen at sjsailboats.com. They have most replacement parts for SJ21. Check the parts catalog at their website.

Good luck, George

They don't have to be identical unless you are keeping the standing rigging. Even then you can probably figure out the diameter of the screw and thread count and order a copy. I replaced all standing rigging from Rigging Only online.

Thanks for the replies.

I checked out the Rigging Only web site (http://riggingonly.com/), and I am now in email contact with Stephen Jensen.

I am new at this, but hopefully I can figure it out from here. I may add a follow-up email just to confirm how it goes.
