keel gaskets

Post by water skipper » Tue Mar 06, 2012 5:06 am

I am replacing my keel gasket this year and was wondering if anyone knows if the aluminum gaskets help keep down the sloshing noise in the keel trunk at night when there is a little wave action and we are trying to sleep. Any info would be helpful. We keep the keel down for some stability or in case we need to get under way in a moments notice. I like the idea of no maintenance, so will most likely put up the extra cash anyway. Just have not seen one on Flathead.
