Is there a way to convert the orignial rudder into a kick up model?

I'm sure there is, but you'd probably have to invent it all yourself amigo:)

Honestly, there are probably a few people out there with the Kick Up's that might be willing to trade you for your kick up. Might want to look into that route.

check with Sid Rousseau in Wichita - he was looking for a straight rudder and had a kick-up to trade.
his email is lizardofoz@att.net

I don't think it would be that difficult to cut your blade down and buy a new kick-up head from Gene, or even get a local welder to make a head.

I don't even think you would need a welder. You can get aluminum plates online for pretty cheap. If you had someone nearby with a kick up, you could trace the pattern and cut the plates with the saw/grinder of your choice. You can also get the aluminum channeling online. I liked theses guys:

I guess it depends on your comfort in cutting and glassing.
