Good Morning Fleet 29,

Please find attached this weeks results and standings for our travel Series.

Thank you to all of the sailors that are attending these outings as we are rebuilding our fleet! We have had great responses from the clubs that we are competing at and other competitors are talking about our San Juan 21's! Hats off to all of you.

Coming up on the schedule:

Wednesday Night Rum Racing at LMSA this week
Brevard Challenge - Want to have a discussion with all fleet participants on this event.
San Juan North American Championships June.

Want to hear some responses on a practice or tuning day on Lake Monroe. Want to know if you would participate and when would be a good day for you and your team. Please get back to us with ideas.

Fleet 29 Series Change

Post by bohawn » Wed Apr 22, 2015 4:11 pm

Fleet 29,

After great consideration and discussion about the upcoming Brevard Challenge, we have decided to eliminate this regatta from the schedule.

Trying to keep pure to our racing series, a distance race does not fit into our current format of the series. We will eliminate this regatta but maintain the last two at Lake Monroe, The Sanford Fall Regatta and the Kettle Cup. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause your team's planning for the series.

If you are a member of LMSA, keep in mind that we competing for a Fleet 29 trophy in their monthly club races. Also, we are planning on more clinics and Fleet Building exercises during the summer. So stay tuned.

Also, we would love to have all of our SJ21 teams sailing in the travel series but we understand that life gets in the way. I personally want to thank all of the support thus far in the travel series. I think that the competition is heating up and we are finding out that these SJ21's are as equal as they can be. To say, this series can be any team is an understatement!

Saying that, we are going to change the DNC to only include boats that have sailed in the series to create a competitive series. To all of the teams that have not participated to date. Do not be shy, come out and race. This has been a great series and has made every team a better SJ21 team. Below is an example of the standings as of today for the teams that have competed.

To all teams, please consider going to the Nationals in June! Support Fleet 29 as we try to revamp the Fleet. We are off to a great start as you can see so Support San Juan 21 Racing. Get involved!

Even though it is only April, we will be reviewing plans for next year's series. Do not be afraid to throw out some ideas and venues that you feel we should race at. Keep in mind this is your Fleet too.

Thank you for your time and understanding. Please let me know if you have any questions.
