If your core is in good shape, that's even more reason to re-bed all your hardware. If you have one of the few decks without core damage, it's best to preserve as much is you can now. Mine was in great shape, but I drilled out the core near the attachment holes and filled with Epoxy to ensure it stays that way.
My mast support is a box, not sure if it's standard but don't believe it has welds on the edges so, probably. You could probably use I-beams or C channel. Yes, The deck organizer plate screws into the threaded plate on top of the mast support? It doesn't need to be threaded, I would rather just have through holes.
