A majority of us have been competing at our home club in the Wednesday Night Rum Races, Sunday Avion Sea Breeze Race and the LMSA Championship Series. We have had a lot of shifts in our Fleet, Old Yeller being sold, Irish Juan in repair mode and some crappy weather for the Championship Series did not stop Randy and Luis Pawlowski from staying on top of the leaderboard.
This month's race we had one SJ21 show up to run one race before the weather chased everyone in. Bill Holstein and Patti Miller started and finished the first race for a bullet. Congrats! The current standings are attached to this e-mail.
Soon the Travel Series will fire up with our last two events, The Sanford Fall Regatta and the Kettle Cup. Hopefully we will have a full field of competitors at these events. We have been exploring an SJ21 to have some sailors come to Lake Monroe and Practice a few up and downs and swap ideas. We will be announcing a weekend in September before the Fall Regatta to get together and have some fun.
We are also looking into expanding our travel series to include more races around the state. We should have a tentative schedule our to everyone by the end of the week. We are looking to increase the racing events so the competition can heat up.
