It has been a long time since we posted to the Facebook or the SJ21 Association Fleet 29 Forum. Our apologies goes out to all of our members of Fleet 29 and the San Juan community.
We hope all of our members have had a great Fourth of July Weekend.
Currently we are in the summer slow season here in Central Florida. Believe it or not, some think it is just too hot to sail. Very hard to believe as our fellow sailors up north are just gearing up their sailing season.
This is a great time to begin tuning your boats along with trailer maintained and get ready for some good racing. We have had a slow response to the first half of our travel series as we are gearing up for the second half. The responses from the club have been overwhelming as the Fleet has had their own class in the hosted regattas.
Currently, Justice, the Pawlowski Team are cleaning up the travel series and the LMSA Club Series. They are a tough and competitive team that always seem to have the right combination to find their way to the first place spot. The Justice team is traveling to Calgary to compete in the San Juan 21 Eastern Championships.
Attached are the current standings and upcoming travel events for Fleet 29. Due to a miscommunication on the Titusville Regatta, the remaining regattas are on the books.
Rudder Club Labor Day Regatta
Sanford Fall Regatta LMSA
Kettle Cup Regatta LMSA
Meantime, Every Wednesday Night there is a Rum Race at Fleet 29’s home, The Lake Monroe Sailing Association. Come and check it out. The Fleet hopes to put together some social events along with some practice events for our fleet in July and August. More to come on those events.
Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any suggestions or comments. Have a safe and enjoyable summer.
Remember, GO SAILING, IT’S WHY YOU BOUGHT THE BOAT!
