I decided that I should practice anchoring in case a thunderstorm came up before I could get back to the marina. The first time I tried it in 10-15 mph winds, the boat sailed back and forth in an arc at the end of the rode. Probably at least 45 degrees to port and 45 degrees to starboard of the true wind direction. Is this normal? How can I get her to lie quietly, head to wind?
Thx, roamer
Sailing Around at Anchor
Re: Sailing Around at Anchor
Mine does the same, but unsure of a solution other than a stern anchor. That's what I do when camping if the swing is an issue.
