I am mid-way through a partial deck re-core of SJ21 Hull#65. After getting all the rotten balsa out I was ready to put in new end grain balsa and new glass on the cabin roof. After some advice from Fleet#1 members who had done similar projects, I decided I needed to flip the boat over to make the balsa/glass work easier. I had already planned to build a lift in my garage to allow me to work on the hull and keel, so I just updated my plans to include two winches instead of one.
I figured this would allow me to lift on one side while dropping the other, keeping the boat centered in the garage while I rolled it over.
Worked like a charm. here is a time-lapse video I made of the process: https://youtu.be/_LGfA5BARvo

I sold my beloved SJ a few years ago to change my fleet to (several) beach boats, but I am impressed with your efforts! Give me a fixed point and I will move the world! Stay safe.

Great job! Paint the bottom while you have it upside down.

Holy cow, that's amazing!!

Sand and fair it first though:) I did that to mine while up on a lift, and sanding and fairing is not fun while working like you're under a car changing it's oil.
