Jerry Dean Hansen
1938 - 2023The San Juan 21 community has lost a long-time friend, Jerry Hansen, who passed away on January 16, 2023 at the age of 84. As a long time member of Fleet 3, Jerry sailed his beloved #503, "Jerry's Ferry", in many regional and national events over the years winning San Juan 21 North American and Western National Championships as well as championships in the High Sierra Regatta on Huntington Lake. Read Jerry's obituary on the Fresno Bee and Dignity Memorial websites.

Fleet 29 is happy to announce that SJ21's are an expected class at the Helly Hansen Sailing World Regatta in St. Petersburg, FL on February 16-10, 2023. We need to have a great showing, not only from Fleet 29 but hopefully from the east coast and the Class Association at large. It has been several years since there was a San Juan 21 fleet at the NOOD's, now the HH/SW Regatta Series. Registration is now open and you can view the event NOR here. 2021 North American Championships
Thanks to Fleet 51 at Klamath Falls Yacht Club for hosting a terrific championship regatta this weekend, June 10-12th. The weather was great, the winds were mostly strong but not overwhelming, and we had some fantastic (and really close) racing. Full results, minutes from the national association meeting and a race report are now up on the Events page, and photos will be posted soon - really ... I'm working on them! ... so stay tuned. Congratulations to Marc Vander Schalie (All Sails) and Paul Von Stubbe (Working Sails), your 2021 San Juan 21 North American Champions!
2020 National Regattas
The 2020 North American Championship at Klamath Yacht Club has been postponed to next summer due to COVID-19 restrictions. Many thanks to those in fleet 51 for the work they did in preparing for this year ... and thanks in advance for their willingness to do it all (well, the planning anyway) again next year. Stay safe and healthy!
The Eastern Region fleet captains have decided to cancel the 2020 Eastern Nationals due to projected low turnout. There are still plans to have a class at the annual Carolina Keelboat One Design (CKOD) Regatta, November 14-15 on Lake Norman, Moorseville, NC. Stay tuned for an update from Nancy Torkewitz, Eastern Vice Commodore, as well as more information on the website as it becomes available.

San Juan 21 sailors are among the most active sailors in North America. Twenty-ones can be found on the rivers of the Midwest, on the lakes from Calgary, Alberta south to Texas, the coastal mountains, lakes, and shores of both the Pacific and Atlantic.
Three regions now make up the Association: West, Midwest, and East. Each represent well in Regional Championships held each year — and in the North American Championship which rotates through each region on a three year cycle and brings together San Juan 21 sailors from across the nation!
Thanks for finding us here on the internet. If you sail or own a San Juan 21 we want you to join us in the association. The Resources button above will take you to additonal web resources for our Class and related web pages!
