SJ21 HIN vx SN

Post by bohawn » Mon Jan 05, 2015 1:39 pm

I have been researching HIN vs. Sail Number on my SJ21 Mark 1. I want to make sure I have the correct sail number on my sails as I have purchased some sails off other boats and want to use the correct sail number.

I know that it is a 1974 Mark 1 with an HIN of CLK 217370974. I have read that the SN is found in two places, one on the backstay plate, the other on the companion way plate. This hull has neither. I did find a number on the upper gudgeon which is 1057. Does anyone know if this another place that Clark used to add Sail Numbers in 1974? If not, can we use the Hull Number 737 or 1057 as the sail number. I added the picture of the HIN and the gudgeon. Thanks for any help that any of you can offer.

Looks like you have Hull 737 built Sept 1974. The number on the gudgeon is probably a part number.
