2012 events calendar

With the new year here it would be great to have all the San Juan21 events listed in one place for everyone to view. This would be a great way for many of us to make plans, but also to see how active our class is nationally. It is great to hear about events from the fleets around the country and see who comes out and participates. I think this site is set up for a calendar. If this is the case lets get the 2012 fleet event schedules entered.

Fleet 8 in New Bern will be holding our annual "Fred Latham- New Years day regatta. Weather looks to be a balmy mid 60's and sunny. great weather for January in Eastern NC.

Once the Fleet 8 schedule is firmed up for 2012 I will post it.

Dan, fleet 1's event calendar should be public. I've enabled it so that anyone should be able to sync it up even on their phone. If the national assn put up a google calendar like ours they should just be able to sync ours up to it as well and get updates as soon as we make them.

LNYC (Charlotte, NC) welcomes San Juan sailors to the:

Ice Bucket regatta - 1 Jan
Early Spring Championships 17-18 Mar
Hospice Lake Norman 19-20 May
July 4th regatta 30 June- 1 July
Labor Day Regatta 1-2 Sept
Carolina Kellboat One Design 10-11 Nov

If you must pick one, then the Labor Day Regatta is likely the best bet

Any boats traveling through our area to St Petersburg(NOOD) are welcome to leave your baot at LNYC on the return and sail with us a few weeks later

Just saw a schedule with the Eastern Nationals to be held on Lake Murray in South Carolina on June 21 to 24.

Should get a great turn out I hope. Seems the interest and participation here in the East is growing!

Thanks for the regatta dates for LNYC. I want to make it out there for at least one of these events. Also my kids want to come out and race their Opti's.

Got to get my trailer on the work list this winter.

A google calendar to put all the events together in one place would be great.

Looks like I got the date and venue wrong for the Eastern Nationals. The details for this event are still getting worked out. Once the new dates and location is set I am sure it will be posted

Fleet 1 just nailed down our 2012 schedule and it would be great to get everyone's up at a central location.... how about the National website? It makes sense to place it there with all of the regional contact information and would be a good spot for post regatta write-ups and pictures as well. A lot of work has gone into getting the site up and running but it needs input from all the fleets to keep it current and relevant, as well as a source of information for potential new owners. Fleet 1 uses a Public Google Calendar. Being public anyone can Sync to it, and a few of our member's sync it up to their phones as well. If we make any updates to it, the device the user sync's to is updated also. Kris should just be able to take our Calendar and sync to it from the national site as well:)
